INACRE
APPLICATION
INACRE acts as a clay inhibitor, reducing the dilution effect in water-based systems. At the same time, it provides an anti-accretion effect, helping minimize torque and drag effects caused by the buildup of clay/hydrated formation on the downhole tools.
The INACRE additive can be used with bentonite or polymer-based water systems.
ADVANTAGE
- Reduces/minimizes accretion risks.
- Provides excellent inhibition and minimizes the cuttings dispersion effect.
- Indirectly provides a buffering effect due to its pH value of 9.0 to 10.0, reducing the required concentration of caustic soda or potash.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
To minimize swelling effects, it is recommended to use INACRE at concentrations ranging from 2 to 6% by volume, depending on the reactivity of the clays. Sometimes, a higher concentration than the recommended one may be required, so laboratory tests can be performed to optimize the concentration based on the desired swelling value. As an anti-accretion agent, it is recommended to use concentrations of 1 to 3% as needed.
It is essential to monitor cuttings in shakers during drilling operations. The cuttings should appear firm and dry in the center. Any indication of stickiness or gumminess suggests the need for inhibition, and additional inhibitor concentration should be added accordingly.
TOXICITY AND HANDLING
Handle it as an industrial chemical, using protective equipment, and adhere to the precautions outlined in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
PACKAGING AND STORAGE
- The INACRE additive is packaged in 208-liter drums. Keep the drums tightly sealed to prevent contamination. Keep away from sparks and flames.
