T-PLUG® WS
It is a noninvasive sealing additive that helps achieve ultra-low fluid penetration into the formation. It consists of a premium blend of granular and cellulosic materials designed to quickly and effectively seal fractures and pores during drilling. The formula contains a blend of granular materials with different particle sizes that make WARSEAL III capable of sealing the wellbore wall.
Larger particles allow pore bridging and fracture opening, while smaller particles form a stable internal and external barrier that effectively seals the formation face.
TPLUG® WS
It is a material used for the prevention and cure of lost circulation.
For prevention, it is continuously added to the active fluid system, and for reinforcement, it is added through 3.5 m3 to 15.9 m3 batches every 10 to 30 meters drilled, as required during the hole drilling phase. As a measure to mitigate lost circulation, it is recommended to use rest batches in the area where fluid loss occurred.
For cementing operations, to reinforce the formation during the displacement of the cement slurry, it is recommended to leave a rest batch containing a mixture of T-PLUG WS and T-PLUG TC, which will help strengthen the formation filter cake due to pressure changes in the hole.
The mixture of various granular materials makes the material highly effective in sealing naturally fractured and highly permeable formations.
By creating a permanent internal seal with a thin plaster, the TPLUG® WS minimizes the risk of pipe sticking due to differential pressure, torque, and drag.
ADVANTAGES
- An inert material, it does not affect fluid properties. It is compatible with all mud systems.
- It has a hard, granular particle size distribution that is resistant to degradation.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
For the control of circulation losses depending on their severity, LOCIMAT recommends using TPLUG® WS in concentrations of 75 – 185 kg/m3 and in preventive treatments a concentration of 15 – 70 kg/m3.
TPLUG® WS can be added alone or in combination with other lost circulation materials.
TOXICITY AND HANDLING
Handle as an industrial chemical, wear protective equipment and observe the precautions described in the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
PACKAGING AND STORAGE
TPLUG® WS is packaged in 25 lb (11.34 kg) bags. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep the container closed. Store away from incompatible materials. Follow safe storage practices regarding palletizing, banding, shrink-wrapping, and/or stacking.
